Also known as Tuek Daeng, formerly it was the royal library for monks in Bangkok established by King Rama V on October 12, 2448. Today, it serves as exhibition hall of King Rama V’s history and works. The exhibition has 7 contents which are:1.The Beloved King-The biography and the outstanding works of King Rama V. Here you can see many important speeches of King Rama V in different occasions. 2.The King and People-The King Rama V’s works that promoted the equality in Siam society, especially the Abolition of Slavery.3.Nation’s Sovereignty-The King Rama V’s foreign policy to maintain the sovereignty of Siam during the period of colonialism.4.New Siam-The very first steps of the utility development in Siam 5.Heritage of Thai Architecture-The 3-D model of the 5 important architectures in the era of King Rama V6.Heritage of World’s Memories-The important historical documents of King Rama V which are related to the development and change in Thailand during 2411-2453. These documents are declared “The Heritage of World’s Memories “by UNESCO. The visitors can read the books provided in this exhibition or read some documents via E-Book system.7.Gallery of King’s Photography (Piyamaharacharuek)-The personal photos of the King Rama V which are hard to see.Vintage photo postcards are also on sale for those who are looking for some souvenirs.The exhibition opens from Wednesdays to Sundays from 9.30a.m.to 4p.m. with no charge.For more information, please call 02 222 4867 or 02 221 6830
