Buddhist Doctrine Practicing Place, The World Fellowship of Buddhists is located on 616, Sukhumvit Rd. Soi 24 near Benjasiri Park, Khlongtoei district, Bangkok.The Buddhist Doctrine Practicing Place is under control of the World Fellowship of Buddhists. This place is established to strengthen the unity between Buddhists, to promote the Dhamma practicing and to support the dissemination of Lord Buddha’s teachings and the educational, cultural and humanitarian activities for peace and unity among humankind.The World Fellowship of Buddhists was established on May 25, 1920, by Dr. Malalasekera, a famous Sri Lankan Pali language expert. It was the first time that Buddhist from different sects around the world came to meet and discuss in order to promote Buddhism.In 2506, the head office was moved from Yangoon to Bangkok. In 1984, Sanya Thammasak was elected the chairman. Today, the chairman of the World Fellowship of Buddhists is Phan Wannamethi, the secretary-general of Thai Red Cross organization.Later, the Buddhist Doctrine Practicing Place was established to promote the objective of the World Fellowshop of Buddhists. Lectures about Buddhism and meditation are offered. Meditation class is hold in every first Sunday of each month (English narration) and the Buddhism class is held on every third and last Sunday of the month from 1p.m. to 6p.m. with free of charges.For more information, please call 02 661 1284 7 on Mondays to Fridays.
