The road is in Soi Pracha Naruemit, Pracharat Sai Nueng Road, Bang Sue district, Bangkok. In 2522, Chinese people moved from Wat Yuan, Saphan Khao, Damrong Rak Road, Saphan Dam, Wat Saket and Bang Lamphu area to re-settle here with their wood carving skills. The symbol of this road is the large wooden arches, which were designed by Ajarn Sudsakon Chaisem, a famous artist at both entrances to the area. Sai Mai Road is well known among those woodwork and carving lovers. Here is the center of wood products such as furniture, home decorations and carvings. There are more than 200 woodwork shops along this one kilometer long road. Today, the Sai Mai road is extended to Soi Sawai Suwan or Krung Thep Nonthaburi 13 which is known as Sai Mai Road 2. How to get there?Public transportation is recommended as there is no sufficient parking space provided.
