Siriraj Bimuksthan Museum (พิพิภัณฑ์ศิริราชพิมุขสถาน) It is situated on the bank of Khlong Bangkok Noi, Chao Phraya River. At the front of the museum is located a building in a traditional Thai style pavilion, housing the statues of King Rama V the Great and HRH. Prince Siriraj Kakuttaphan. The Museum comprises the vintage railway station building, clock tower, and warehouse which have been renovated to be a location for displaying the 200-year-old history of the early Rattanakosin period, multimedia exhibition with light and sound about the kings and royal family members’ story related to medicine and the founding of Siriraj Hospital for the public’s benefits, the evolution of traditional Thai medicine from the past to present, the surgical simulation in which visitors can experience the roles of physicians and nurses like being in the surgical room. The warehouse section showcases a theatre, poetry, shops, and Dhamma hall that depicts the art, culture, traditions, and local wisdom of the Bangkok Noi community’s way of life. A 24-metre antique wooden ship, which was buried for more than 100 years, is also on display. Open : Monday, and Wednesday-Sunday (closed on Tuesday and public holidays) from 10.00 a.m.-05.00 p.m. Ticket sold till 04.00 p.m. Admission : visit one museum 200 Baht, visit Siriraj Bimuksthan Museum and Siriraj Medical Museum (located in the Siriraj Hospital area) 300 Baht with audio.
