Don Manora Floating Market is a small market that still preserves its natural environment and ways of life of the people. Local people have been using this place as a trading center on the 2nd, 7th, 12th days of both the waxing and waning moon of the lunar calendar from the past until present. It is impressive to see the Don Manora canal full of merchant boats. If one wants to visit this ancient market, he or she needs to go there early. The market opens from 6 am to 8 am. After that, the canal will be empty since merchants will be paddling their ways to another floating market. The must try food at the market are, for example, an ancient popcorn, boat noodles, fruits, such as; coconut, rose apple, guava, watermelon, mango, orange, pine apple etc. Also, Thai desserts are a recommended, for instance; sticky rice drenched in coconut milk, sticky rice and custard, bean-paste and sticky rice in coconut cream with ripe mango. How to get there: from Nakhorn Patom Province, head toward Petchkasem road (Ratchaburi bound), after passing Nakhorn Patom for 30 kilometers, Nongpho Dairy Cooperative Ltd. will come into sight. Then, after going forward for another 10 kilometers, Bang Pae intersection will appear. Here is where Petchkasem road and Samut Songkram-Bang Pae road intersect. Go pass Damnoen Saduak Floating Market and keep going forward for another 8 kilometers. At one point, there will be a sign saying ‘Ratchaburi Province’, when one passes Obcharoen temple, please lower the speed. Don Manora Floating Market is located in between Klongmeng Bridge. It is Amphor Bangkontee, Samut Songkram province on the one side, and Amphor Damnoen Saduak, Ratchaburi province on the other side. Turn left and the sign “Don Manora Temple” will appear. Keep going for another 500 meters; turn right at the intersection, where Bang Chak gas station stands with the sign “Don Manora Temple” on the left, and then keep going straight for another kilometer.
