Since His Majesty the King had gone to see Huay Sai Development and Learning Center at Cha-am district, Petchcaburi province on 5th April 1983, he had an idea that in the past, this area along with the neighborhood was once very fertile. There were waterfalls and rivers to be used all year long. However, as time passed by, the area was decaying and the amount of rainfall also decreased every year and it did not rain according to the season. Therefore, His Majesty the King was worried that this area would eventually turn into the dessert. The center prioritizes afforestration to rehabilitate the forest in order to become fertile as in the past.
