Wat Lak Si Rat Samoson

In Tambon Yokkrabat is home to the much revered red sandstone Buddha image in the attitude of subduing Mara, “Luangpho To”, assumed to be from the U Thong period. The image has a round face, curved and connecting eyebrows, protruding eyes, and slightly smiling. To get there: From Rama II Road, pass Maha Chai, proceed onto Amphoe Ban Phaeo, go straight, and cross Khlong Damnoen Saduak. Turn left at the foot of the bridge at the junction of the Ban Phaeo Hospital. Then, turn right, pass Wat Thamma Chariyaphirom, go straight, and turn left at the junction. Keep going straight, turn left at the intersection, cross Khlong Damnoen Saduak, and turn right for the temple.
