Formerly known as Wat Bangyang, it is located at the end of Bangsithong Canal.

With the ancient design of the sanctuary, it is believed that this temple was first built during the period of Ayutthaya Kingdom. Later in 1961, the temple was renovated, and therefore, there has been some change in the design. The main Buddha image here is in the form of Thao Mahachompu with savakas on both sides. Wat Bangkang is formerly known as Wat Bangyang, located at the end of Bangsithong Canal, but with the new canal constructed, the name of this temple was changed according to the canal’s name.
