Ayutthaya Studies Institute is located in Phranakhon Si Ayutthaya Rajabhat University, 96 Moo 2 Pridi Banomyong Road Pratu Chai Subdistrict, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya District, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya 13000. It is an important attraction of arts and culture as it plays a major role in conducting studies on and publicising knowledge about Ayutthaya, the ancient capital where local and Thai culture originated.As a cultural and intellectual attraction, the institute displays exhibits on Ayutthaya in various aspects in a complex of five traditional Thai houses. The houses include the Ayutthaya Studies house, the local intellect house, the arts house, the travelling exhibition house and the ritual house. Moreover, the institution offers visitors a wide range of activities that they can attend and gain a wealth of knowledge from, for example, the show of “Ayutthaya at Night”, portraying Ayutthaya’s court and people of ancient Ayutthaya’s lifestyle and beliefs. Additionally, visitors can enjoy traditional Thai music and dance shows. Also, if you visit the site at the weekend, don’t miss the Ayutthaya’s ancient ruins night tour by tram. Furthermore, the institute provides demonstrations of arts and culture as well as local customs, e.g. wedding, topknot cutting ceremony, the Tham Khwan Nak ritual, etc. In addition, OTOP products are displayed and sold along with product demonstrations in order to promote local products.Alternatively, for those who would like an expert to tell you more about Ayutthaya, the institute provides both Thai and foreign tourists with local guides who will take you to the city’s tourist spots where you can experience their real atmosphere.Ayutthaya Studies Institute is the right place for those who have a passion for history.
