Monument Of King Naresuan The Great And King Ekathotsarot

Monument of King Naresuan the Great and King Ekathotsarot located on the ground by the Chao Phraya Riverbank at Wat Pa Mok Worawihan, the Monument was built to commemorate the benevolence of King Naresuan the Great when he led the army to march from the capital Ayutthaya and landed at Ban Pa Mok. This is a spot where the ritual to build soldiers’ spirits (Yaep Ching Chaiyaphum Tat Mai Khom Nam Ritual) and worshipping the reclining Buddha image were made. After that the King marched the army to battle on elephant back (Yutthahatthi) with Mingyi Swa of Burma in which he was victorious at Tambon Traphangtru, Nong Sarai on the 2nd day of the waning moon of the 2nd lunar month in the Year of the Dragon (Cho So 954) that corresponded to the date of 18 January, of which the province has annually held the municipal ceremony of the Royal Thai Armed Forces Day comprising an oblation ceremony and giving offerings as a royal sacrifice.
