Chedi Phra Khun Mae is a very interesting attraction with the same chedi shape as Phra Phratom Chedi but smaller in size. Inside the chedi, lies a model of Buddha’s footprint surrounded by 7-day Buddha images. This chedi was build to remind a good son and daughter their mother’s kindness and repay.Chedi Phra Khun Mae is located in the area of Wat Klong Mai, Wihan Daeng District, Saraburi Province. It is in an upside-down-bell-shaped Chedi with the height of approximately 30 metres. Inside the Chedi, Ketu, who protects each and every one regardless their birthday, is installed on the top. Moreover, there is also a model of Buddha’s left footprint installed inside the Chedi. The outside is surrounded by 7-day Buddha images from Sunday to Saturday for visitors to sightsee and make merit.Wat Klong mai was built many years ago as well as Chedi Phra Khun Mae. Mr. Phachuab Jampathong, the famous spokesman and the owner of the nationwide famous Kuan Im Cream, and Sr Col. Samnaonatee together found this pagoda and named it Chedi Phra Khun Mae. The purpose is to remind those who come to pay respect the kindness of their mother whom we all owe the most. In addition, there is also a lotus pond where lotus called Bua Luang grows naturally in a 52m long irrigation canal.To get to Chedi Phra Khun Mae, visitors can use their private car to travel to Chedi Phra Khun Mae located in Wat Klong Mai, Tambon Nong Mu and is 42 kilometres away form Saraburi Province. Take the highway no. 1, Phaholyothin Road towards Bangkok through Hin Kong and Nhong Kae Market. Before crossing Rapheephat Bridge, turn left at the crossroads to Wat Klong Mai along the irrigation canal and then turn left passed Nhong Kae District Office for about 5km and you will reach your destination.
