Narai Cave (Khao Wong Cave)

The Cave has stalactites and stalagmites. There is also ancient Mon alphabet inscribed at the mouth of the cave.

Wat Khao Wang was restored in 1917. It was registered as archaeological site by Fine Arts Department of Thailand in 2002. The inscription at the mouth of the Cave shows the evidence that Narai Cave was the place to make a merit since Anu Rattha Pura period which is about 1,200 years ago. Later in reign of King Narai, it was the place that King Narai spent a night when he traveled to Ayutthaya. In the present, Wat Khao Wang (Narai Cave) is meditation office of Sara Buri. It accepts meditators throughout the year. It opens every day from 8 am- 4.30 pm. For more information, please call 0 3634 7730 and 08 4310 9442-3, or visit www.watkhaowong.com
