Sa Kaeo

Sra Keaw is located in the middle of Sri Suriyothai or Sra Keaw roundabout on Narai Maharad Road, Amphoe Muang Lop Buri. In the center of pond is giant candle on giant tray decorated with ministries’ symbols. It also has bridge connecting 4 sides. At the foot of the bridge, there are 2 lion sculptures lying on.

Sa Kaeo was built in General Po Phibunsongkhram period. It started building since 1938 in the use of being water source and relaxing place for Lop Buri people. In the center of pond is giant candle on giant tray decorated with ministries’ symbols. The sculptures is in neo-fascist art style which is popular during dictatorship period. There are 4 bridges connecting 4 sides. Moreover, there are 4 serpent sculptures in the pond and lion sculptures lying on the foot of each bridge. The edge of the pond is designed as seats to sit on.
