Wat Si Samoson

Wat Si Samoson

Wat Si Samoson (วัดศรีสโมสร) is the main temple of the village. The sermon hall displays a permanent exhibition that is divided into three zones: the first zone displays a religion-related story together with Buddha images in various postures, the second zone showcases the history of the community; telling a story of the Lao Khrang race from the past to the present, and the third zone shows ancient belongings of their ancestors; such as, woven textile, and palm leaf book. The community also offers an opportunity for interested persons to learn about their inherited traditions and culture; for example, local wisdom of making ancient rice noodles, local textile weaving, wicker basket, local 14 cooking, local herbs, manual rice milling, rituals and beliefs, Bai Si welcoming ritual, and local food eating. Every year during 14-16 April, the traditional fair named “Tonhap Sangkhan Bun Songkran Pi Mai Thai” is held.
