Rangsit Science Centres For Education

It is an educational learning source on science for children, youth and the public. It comprises exhibitions on science, technology, natural science, astronomy, and space. Moreover, there are various experimental activities encouraging fun learning.

The Rangsit Science Center for Education is located in the area of 62 rais, Tambon Rangsit, Rangsit-Nakornnayok Road, Amphoe Thanyaburee between Klong 5 and Klong 6 with the same entry as Rajamangala University of Technology but situated 4 kilometers on the different side of the university on Rangsit-Nakorn Nayok Road. It was established in 1994 in order to serve as a scientific learning center for students, the youth and the public. The building inside occupies 35,000 square meters of usable areas divided into a permanent exhibition room, a planetarium, a seminar room as well as a laboratory. Indoor exhibitions promote the learning of technology science and environment such as an exhibition of the light of the land, astronomy, space, basic science, kid’s city, miraculous scientific land opening the world of ecology and environment, the spectacular world of million-year-old creatures, the planet earth as well as sports and science.Outdoors are exhibitions of a herb garden, a science garden, an agricultural garden, the nature, sundials, plants appearing in literature as well as geography garden.The Rangsit Planetarium is a sloping dome one, having a capacity for 160 spectators. It includes IMAX cinemas, which makes it one of the most modern planetariums in Southeast Asia.The dome observatory installs LX 200 16-inch telescopes with CCD. Moreover, it installs other field telescopes such as 16-inch Newtonian telescopes and other three 4-inch reflecting telescopes for astronomical purposes.The center also provides various types of activities such as both one-day and stay-over scientific camps, scientific classrooms, meetings, seminars on scientific technology and environment.The center opens from Tuesdays to Sundays (09.30 a.m.-4 p.m.) and is closed on Mondays and holidays. You can visit by group at 9.00 a.m., 10.00 a.m., 11.00 a.m., in the morning or 1 p.m., 2 p.m. or 3 p.m. on weekdays and an additional tour on Saturdays and Sundays at 4 p.m. Admission fee is charged at 30 baht.
