The Southeast Asian Ceramics museum (SEACM) was established in 2002 to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the founding of Bangkok University. The museum, which houses more than 2,000 ancient and valuable ceramics donated by SuratOsathanugrah, the founder of Bangkok University, is aimed at instilling an appreciation for ceramics in students and art enthusiasts alike. It is also be a center for research and training on all aspects of historic ceramics.Furthermore, the museum is responsible for the housing and preservation of valuable collections of ancient ceramics, most of them made in Thailand or imported into Thailand during ancient times; collating data and information related to ceramic wares and potteries; identifying the various types of ceramics according to their origins and characteristics; documenting and safeguarding the collections; organizing educational activities and more.To get to SEACM, take buses No. 29 and 39, the Rangsit-PratunamPhra In bus, air-conditioned buses No. 29, 39, or 510, or an air-conditioned van travelling the Victory Monument-BU Rangsit Campus. Alternatively, visitors may also take a taxi.SEACM is located inside the campus of Bangkok University, at 9/1 Moo 5, AmphoeKlongLuangPathumThani 12120.
