Wat Phrao

The architecture of this temple’s Wihan or sermon hall is distinguishing characteristics that points to its Burmese roots. The hall also houses the Lord Buddha’s footprint. In the backyard is an old library containing many Buddhist scriptures, located in the middle of the pond. A large flock of flying foxes live in the Java plum trees in the backyard of this temple. Wat Phrao is located in Tambon Pho Phraya, north of Wat Phra Non and next to Pho Phraya Watergate, approximately 9 kilometers from downtown. It is open daily from 6.00 am-5.00 pm.
