Lam Khlong Ngu National Park

Named after a creek that snakes through the jungle, eroding limestone cliffs along the way and turning them into large caves and grottoes with attractive stalagmites and stalactites.

“Lam Khlong” means canals and “Ngu” means snakes, which suggests where the name was from. It is believed that there was a big snake who eroded through limestones and created waterways and caves, which appear at the national park these days. Lam Khlong Ngu owns verdant tropical forest home to a variety of wild animals, plants and insects. It is also home to a number of beautiful limestone caves such as Tham Nok Nang Aen, Tham Namtok, Tham Yai, and, most importantly, Tham Sao Hin, where you find Thailand’s tallest limestone column made of stalagmites and stalactites stood inside, measuring 62.5 metres in height. Dry season is the best period to visit these caves as the water level is not too high so you can see the natural beauty easily. Visiting caves in Lam Khlong Ngu National Park needs advance arrangement of itinerary, necessary equipment for cave exploration, and preparation of physical fitness.
