The museum’s aims is to provide Thai youths and the public with opportunities to admire, to take pride in, to learn and to study the national treasure classed as the heritage preserving Thai historical and cultural values as well as arts with apparently perfect, unique, and fine production by ancient Thai artists The Pavilion houses and exhibits a collection of coins showing the evolution of Thai mints from the past to the present days, especially the exhibition of Lanna-style coins. The museum is a 2-storey building. The exhibition of various types of coins in each period is hosted downstairs, all of which are rare to be seen as they were only made on special occasions. Moreover, the presentations of Royal Thai decorations and coins are held upstairs. In addition to supply the public with information, the museum is a center for exchanging, dispensing, returning, and selling coins as well as banknotes that Treasury Department made on momentous occasions such as ones involving the nation, the religion and the king in order to promote the collection. Additionally, tourists can purchase coins at the right booth near the museum entry. If you have problems with coins you own, you can have the museum check them. Above all, the museum provides services such as holding the exhibition outside the museum to inform people who don’t regularly visit the museum.
