Samor Thong Hot Spring

This scalding hot water spring bubbles to the surface from an underground source, forming a charming stream that flows down to Than Khok Khwai or Huai Khun Kaew Reservoir. Visitors should be warned: the water is beautifully clean and clear, but so hot it can boil an egg in 5 minutes and has the typical odor of sulfur, believed by some to be therapeutic.A mineral bath is on offer for tourists, and nearby is a 20 meter-high Buddha image seated high amongst the peaceful scenery of the area. The creation of the reservoir flooded the stream and the source of the spring; however, an earth levee was constructed and natural landscaping developed around the area.To get there, from Amphoe Ban Rai, take Highway No.3282 (Amphoe Ban Rai-Amphoe Huai Khot) to Km. 41, and then turn right to Ban Wang Yang Samo Thong for another 24 kilometers. The total distance from the city is 64 kilometers. The hot spring is open daily for visitors between 8.00 am-6.00 pm.
