The Ancient City of Bung Khok ChangThe Ancient City of Bung Khok Chang is located in moo 9, moo 12 and moo 21 in Paikaew Sub-district, Sa Wang A Rom District, Uthaithani.It has area around 345 rai and it is very old. Back to Buddhist Era 11-16 or in Tawarawadee Era, there were moat and walls surrounding the city. This divided the city into 3 parts which are inner part, extended of inner part and outer part. The inner moat of the ancient city shapes like circle that has diameter about 490 metre. The gateways of the city have pools. On the east side of the city, there is a gutter. The extended of inner part is like gutter. The extended levee has 10 metre width, 1000 metre length and 4-5 metre tall. The moat has around 20-25 metre width, 1000 metre length and 3-4 metre depth. The outer moat’s shape is like a big square. The size of the outer part of city is big. It has 1000 metre width and 1500 metre length. At this part, there are levee and gutter. The levee has 15 metre width and 1-4 metre tall. The gutter has 20 metre width, 4060 metre length and 8 metre depth. However, nowadays here is a big forest and do not have any water left.Ancient stuff, pottery, stone, metal tool, yellow beads, stone bell, Buddha images and stone inscription of ancient Khmer alphabet 3 digits were found here and have been kept at Local History and Cultural Museum opposite TAT Uthaithani branch. Then, use another highway (number 3456) to Lansuk District which is far from Sa Wang A Rom for about 14 km. You will see a pagoda on your left and see Bung Khok Chang sign. This road cut through Bung Khok Chang.
