Chao Fah Han Kuman Monument

Chao Fah Han Kuman Monument is located in the village number 7, Ban Thong Thap Lae, Fai Luang Sub-district, 12 kilometers from the city center. From Lap Lae District, the tourists can take the highway number 1043. This monument of the first ruler of Lap Lae city is situated at the back of the hill. There is an entrance to the view point where the tourists can see the scenery of Lap Lae city. Mr. Somprat Saowapaiboon, the chief district officer of Lap Lae, along with government officers, merchants, and other people, were united in establishing the statue and the monument for the reverence to Chao Fah Han Kuman’s virtue. The foundation stone was laid in December 19, 1983. Legend has it that Chao Fah Ham Kuman was a ruler in the history of Lap Lae. He was a hero of Lap Lae District in Uttaradit Province. It is said that he was the son of Phra Chao Ruangthai Thirat, the ruler of Singhanavati of Yonok Nak Nakhon Chiang Saen kingdom. Chao Fah Ham Kuman was assigned by his father to rule Lap Lae city, which was the border city of Yonok Nak Nakhon Chiang Saen kingdom, in 970 A.D. to prevent the attack from Kamphotcha Nakhon (Khmer) and Burma. Therefore, he is believed to be the first ruler of Lap Lae city. As for the direction to the monument, from Lap Lae Market junction, the tourists can take the route to Mae Poon Waterfall. When seeing Wat Mai on left side, turn left to the alley in the opposite side of the temple and continue for around 800 meters. Chao Fah Ham Kuman Monument will be there.
