Mae Puem National Park

Mae Puem national park is where the mixed forests and dry dipterocarp forests are. These are the distinctive features that make this National Park beautiful throughout the year. This national park consists of 2 main areas; DoiPui forest and Mae Puem forest. DoiPui forest covers the area of AmphurPaan and AmphurMuang in Chiang Rai province while Mae Puem forest covers the area of AmphurPaan and AmphurPaaDaad in Chiang Rai province and Amphur Mae Jai in Payao province. The area covers around 356 square kilometers (220 square kilometers in Chiangrai province and 136 square kilometres in Payao).The DoiPui forest area is in the conserved forest of DoiPui, AmphurMuang, Chiangrai, conserved forest of HuayTon Yang and Huay Mae Kaew, AmphurPaan, Chiangrai which is around 108 square kilometres. The landscape consists of mountains from north to south for 27 kilometers. It is also the origin of Mae Kaew River, consisting many beautiful rocks with flowing water all year. The highest point of the mountain is on the north with the height 403-936 meters from the mean sea level.The second area covers the area of the conserved forest of Mae Puem and Mae Poong forests, AmphurPaan, Amphur Pa Daed, Chiangrai province and Amphur Mae Jai, AmphurMuang of Payao province, conserved forest Mae Puem, and Dongpradu forest, Amphur Mae Jai, AmphurMuang of Payao province and conserved forest Mae Hong Por forest, HuayKaew forest and Mae Ing forest of Payao. All of these cover around 248 square kilometres with mountain as the most of the landscape from north to south (around 32 kilometers). The slope is on the east side and also the origin of Mae Puem brook. The highest point is on the north with the height from 403-978 meters from the mean sea level.
