Magic Hill

Magic Hill is a small place where many people drive pass. It is located at the 17th-18th kilometer marker on the highway number 2258 (Na Ngua- Sado Phong) in Rim Si Muang Sub-district, Khao Kho District, Phetchabun Province. The wonder of the Magic Hill is hard to explain to children as the things used in the experiment can go upward against what eyes can see. The most popular experiment is to stop the engine, park the car, and shift the gear to neutral. The car will amazingly move upward on the hill for around 10 meters. It is proved that this phenomena is resulted from illusion. The height of the hill is lower than the hill ascent; therefore, the car moves backwards because of the gravity of earth.Direction: from Phetchabun Province, take the highway number 21 (Phetchabun- Lom Sak) for approximately 13 kilometers. At Na Ngua T-junction, turn left to the highway number 2258. The road starts with the kilometer marker number 0 and the Magic Hill is located between the 17th and 18th kilometer marker.From the highway number 12 (Phitsanulok- Lom Sak), after satisfyingly traveling in Khao Kho, take the highway number 2258 to Na Ngua T-junction at Sado Phong junction which leads to Phetchabun Province. The Magic Hill is located between the 17th and 18th kilometer marker. The tourists can stop the car and try the experiment. During the high season of travelling, there are so many cars doing the test. The tourists must be very careful at this time.Apart from Phetchabun Province, there are also other four tourist attractions throughout the country which present the miracle like this. The first place is on the hill ascent at the 68th kilometer marker on Mae Sot- Tak Road. The second place is on the way to Phrae Province on Phrae- Long Road. The next place is the Magic Hill in Ban Phra Sub-district, Mueang Prachinburi District. There is a route that connects the two important tourist attractions; Khao Ito Waterfall and Chakkapong Reservoir. Many restaurants are situated on this paved road. The last place is the Magic Hill in Muak Lek District, Saraburi Province. From the city center, take the highway number 2 and go to the highway number 2089 at the junction. There will be the tree tunnel at approximately the 24th or 25th kilometer marker.
