Pho KhunNgamMuang Monument

This touching memorial of then-Phayao state (known as PhuKamyao) celebrates the remarkable growth and prosperity of the kingdom of monarch Pho KhunNgamMueang some 700 years ago. During his reign, the city-state flourished and saw its territory expand. It was often said that wherever the King travelled, the weather obeyed his desires.The king was also a close ally of PhokhunMengrai, ruler of Chiang Mai Kingdom, and PhokhunRamkhamhaeng of Sukhothai Kingdom, swearing a historic oath of non-aggression at the Ingriver, near the current Phayao Freshwater Fishery Station.
