Wat Chang Puek

Wat Chang Phueak houses the venerated body of a widely-respected monk, PhrakhruPhatcharachan, also known as LuangphoThop. Encased in a glass coffin, the monk’s body appears to resist the effects of time and decay. Locals highly respect the monk, and in March, there is an annual commemoration ceremony of his death.To get there, from MueangPhetchabun, take Highway No. 21 to Wang Chomphu T-junction and turn left toward AmphoeNongPhai. At Km. 118 before Ban Na Yom T-junction, there will be a direction sign to the temple which is located 700 meters away.The temple is open from 6.00 am-5.00 pm.
