Wat Nakhon Chum

Wat Nakhon Chum

Built in the Sukhothai period about 800 years ago, this temple features an old Ubosot (or ordination hall) built of brick and mortar and tipped with wood. Instead of windows, there are narrow openings for ventilation cut into the walls, as was typical of Ayutthaya period temples. Inside the Ubosot is a large Sukhothai-style Buddha statue once used as the principal statue in oath of allegiance ceremonies. WatNakhon Chum is approximately 9 kilometres from town on Phichit-Wang Chik Road. It is open daily from 6.00 a.m.-5.00 p.m.
