Kaeo Praserd TempleKaeo Praserd Temple was built on the shore line of Chumporn. From this temple visitors can see spectacle view of the mountain along the Pa Tiw bay, the sight is said to the painting-like. Father Jong, the abbot, built many Thai & Chinese style construction for people to pray & meditate. The most remarkable relies are the Buddha meditate on 9-headed naga base & the Guan Yin Bodhisattva sculptures. The temple also has a golden shrine, Thai & Chinese style monk sculptures, his highness prince Chumphon sculptures, etc. This temple also features a museum housing antique painting for visitors toKaeo Praserd Temple was built in 1972 which is 32 years ago, originally named KuanJarernmonastry or TaaAedmonastry. Later, monk BanjongDhammaraso consulted with other monks to change the name of this temple to Kaeo Praserd monastery. This name symbolizes heart of buddhists which are as pure as pearls. “Kaeo” means pure crystal, and “Praserd” means benevolence and greatness. Combining these 2 words together, Kaeo Praserd means the benevolent crystal for humanity. Thus gives this temple purpose for us men.In front of the temple lies a mangrove forest. This forest is under the protection of her majesty queen Sirikit’s mangrove protection campaign, covering thousands of rais (hundreds of acres). This forest is also a habitat for many species of animals. With this forest the temple has unique tranquil scenery, attracting many visitors to pray and rest their hearts at this place.
