Nong Kra Ting Park Nong Kra Ting Park is one of the tourist attractions in Lampang province. It is located in Baan Nam-Toang village, Tambon Bo-Haew, Amphoe Muang, Lampang, adjoining to Lampang provincial Stadium, and Office of Disaster Prevention & Mitigation-area 10. Nong Kra Ting Park is considered the biggest park in Lampang, with Kra Ting monument statue (Kra Ting known as ‘Bull’ in Thai) situated in the middle of the site. Nowadays, it is under the supervision of Provincial Administrative Organization. Inside, there is a large lagoon, full of a variety of fishes. Nong Kra Ting Park is an exercising space, and a race space for sports like mini-half marathon as well.As for transportation, from Lampang town, drive across Pattana Pak Nuea bridge, crossing Mae Wang river. Then, follow the route Lampang-Amphoe Hang-Chat. It takes around 3 kilometers before reaching the destination. As a relaxation space near the town, Lampang local people usually come here to do activities such as jogging, swimming, and watercycling. Apart from the mini parks for relaxation, the site also has restaurants, and beverage shops which are open daily from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.Nong Kra Ting Park is pleasantly cool with shades of a variety of plants, abound with giant trees, and seasonal plants. A 6-meter wide paved way is around the garden for its visitors to walk, run, exercise, and ride their bicycles. There is a large crystal clear lagoon, with crossing bridge to the little mound in the middle, where visitors can leisurely picnic in a shady cool atmosphere.For additional use of the park, Provincial Administrative Organization of Lampang has renovated the site, planted more trees, cleared out the dirty ditches until becoming purely clean and clear. The officials aim to make Nong Kra Ting Park to be one of the most perfect parks in Lampang. For the latest renovation, the pavement has been repaired by laying new bricks around the ditches, and the lagoon, planting various flowering plants in order to attract Lampang people and its tourists. The added features were aimed to draw more people to visit, to promote the park as the tourist attraction, and to provide a beautiful shady relaxation space in Lampang.The main purpose in keeping the garden in perfect condition is to maintain a relaxation and exercise site for people, and also to develop the park as a magnificent tourist attraction. Moreover, its another use is for holding many activities on special occasions, such as on Children’s Day. Significantly, in the future, there could be events like Drawing Competition, Photograph Contest, Singing Contest for kids, youth, and general citizens, etc. taking place here for a lively colorful atmosphere in Nong Kra Ting Park. These activities are aimed to meet the park’s purpose as a relaxation site for Lampang people.
