Sai Ri Sawi Beach

Sai Ri Sawi Beach is considered Sawi District’s most beautiful beach. It is located in Moo 8, Tha Hin Subdistrict, Sawi District, Chumphon. As one of the main tourist attractions in Tha Hin, it is under the auspices of the Tha Hin Subdistrict Administrative Organisation. Sai Ri Sawi is a three-to-four-kilometre beach with coconut trees growing along it. The beach still maintains a lot of natural beauty; therefore, it is a perfect place to put your feet up.On 14 April of every year, the Songkran festival is held here. The celebration will last from morning till night. It will not only entertain visitors but also generate locals’ income. Activities held in the festival include Pho Thao Phet’s procession in the morning, a flower parade and the ceremony of pouring water into hands of Pho Thao Phet and the elderly. Apart from these activities, there are goat fighting, a giant cane broom making competition and other kinds of competitions which will be different each year. In the evening, there will be shows of local students, a Thida Songkran beauty contest and other interesting activities. To get here from Chumphon, drive along Highway 41 to Sawi. Turn left onto a road to Sawi. After driving past Sawi Town, use Highway 4003, Sawi-Bo Kha Road. Drive about six kilometres, turn right onto Bang Kreng-Ao Manao Road and drive another seven kilometres. Also, hotels can be found near the beach.
