Wat Ban Pang38 kilometres away from the downtown of Amphoe Li of Lamphun province at Moo 1, Si Wichai district located Wat Ban Pang-one of the significant places throughout the life of Khru Ba Si Wichai or usually known as the Saint of Lanna who has constructed the road to Phra That Doi Suthep; this temple was the place of his ordination and also where the collection of his personal belongings is kept.Wat Ban Pang is spacious and shady; it includes many buildings such as the prayer hall, the assembly hall, the pagoda, and various sizes of Buddha images erected sporadically within the vicinity, etc. The highlighted ‘Museum of Khru Ba Si Wichai’s Monkhood Requisites’ is also situated in the temple area where the great monk’s household utensils like robe, inner robe, pillow, spittoon, vase, etc., and the paraphernalia for special purposes like the chair he once used to supervise the construction, the chair for palm leaves dharma inscription, the laundry tub, the palanquin, Luang Anusan’s tricycle used to deliver the alms for Khru Ba Si Wichai are kept. The first car driven on the road leading to the summit of Doi Suthep on April 30, 1935 (2478 B.E.) is even displayed here.Apart from the museum, Phra Khru Ba Chao Si Wichai Hall is another interesting spot where you can admire the illustrated biography and excerpts of stories about the construction of more than a hundred temples Khru Ba Si Wichai involved in.
