This village is famous for its craftsmen who build traditional Kolae boats. This type of boat has been used by the fishermen of Pattani and Narathiwat for centuries. The distinctive characteristics of the Kolaeboat include the narrowing of both the bow and the stern and its colorful decoration. Besides the life-sizeboats, the villagers of Ban Paseyawo also make miniature versions as souvenirs. The design, building and decoration of the boats by the local people is a fusion both Malay and Thai cultures.
