Bang Lang Dam

The Bang Lang Dam is the first multi-purpose dam in the South, and is located on Pattani River. It is 85 meters high with a ridge 422 meters long. Altogether, the reservoir can hold 1,420 million cubic meters of water. The dam was officially opened in 1981, in a ceremony presided over by His Majesty the King. An overlook upstream of the dam, around the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand office, affords a panoramic view of the dam and the surrounding hills.The Bang Lang Dam is located at Ban Bang Lang, Tambon Bacho, on Highway No. 410. To get there, take Highway No. 410 for about 50 kilometers from Amphoe Mueang Yala, then turn left for 12 kilometers.
