Hat Khanom-Mu KoThale Tai national park Hat Khanom-Mu KoThale Tai National Park is the location of well-known beacheswith its long white sand beach that stretches into the sea and rows of pine trees inNakhon Si ThammaratProvince.Mat Kong Island and Mat Sum Island have long beaches and lines of coconut trees. There are beautiful coral reefs with disc corals, brain corals and staghorn corals. Beaches and clear blue water surround the island, making it the perfect place for scuba diving, snorkeling and swimming. Clean, white sand beaches and clear water that attract swimmers are found at bays like Ao Thong Yi, Ao Thong Yang, AoKo Kao, Ao Na Dan, Ao Fang Pao, Ao Thong Ching and AoNaiPlao. There are several waterfalls at the National Park: ThaNoi Waterfall, which is located at Kuan Thong Sub district, Khanom District,Nakhon Si Thammarat,Nanphai Waterfall, ThoongSai Sub district, Si Chon District, Nakhon Si Thammarat and Klangthong Waterfall, Pakpraek Sub district, DonSak District, SuratThani. Interesting places to visit Khanom Beach The beach is 1.5 km. far from Khanom District center. It is accessible by taking the Highway 4041 that separates from the Highway 401 for a distance of 17 km. About 1 km. from Khanom Market, turn right and you will arrive at the beach. It is a beautiful place by the seaside with 2-3 connected beaches, namelyNaiPraed Beach, NaiPlao Beach and Pak Nam Beach. Together, they are called Nha Dan Beach. The long stretch of the beaches alternating with rocks is situated between the mountains that extend into both the seas on the northern part and southern part of the island. There are short and long beaches with clear water that is ideal for swimming. Up north from the point where Khanom Canal meets the sea, there are connected beaches including Thong Ching Beach, Fang Pao Beach, Thong Nhod Beach and Nang Kum Beach. South from that point, one of the most beautiful beaches of Nakhon Si Thammarat called NaiPlao Beach is located. It is a crescent-shaped beach with white sand and the length of 18 km. KhaoDatFaScenic Point You can see the sunrise from the sea from this point as well as Tan Islands and Samui Island from afar. You will see the tropical rain forest of Khao Dad Faand countless types of birds in their true habitat. In the morning, gibbons can be seen and heard. Moreover, you will be able to watch the sunset. It is accessible by tarred road with electricity posts along the way. The scenic point is 15 km. far from Khanom District Center. Freshwater pond in the sea The freshwater pond is situated in the midst of the sea off ThaRai Island, Thong Nian Sub district, Khanom District in Nakhon Si Thammarat. Chong Roo Led in the same district, the joint of Donsak District in SuratThani and Khanom District in Nakhon Si Thammarat, is the habitat of several marine lives. It is the ideal place to see animals living in the nature. Khao Wang Thong Cave It is an intriguing and spectacular cave. Despite the entrance that is just a small hole, you will find different shapes of stalagmites and stalactites that you will be mesmerized by their beauty that is worth the journey. From Khanom District Center, take the Kanom-Dansak route. After 9 km, turn left at Kuan Thong Sub district Office and continue for 4 km. Then, turn right and continue for 700 m. and you will arrive at the foot of the hill. Walk up the stairs for 100 m. and you will arrive at the cave. NaanPai Waterfall Beautiful 3-tiered waterfall with descending waters. KhlongKhanom Mangrove Forest The area of KhanomSub district, Kuan Thong Sub district and Thong Nian Sub district in Nakhon Si Thammarat’sKhanom District is perfect for educational tourism. People can observe the environment and mangrove forests. From SuratThani Province, take the National Highway 401 and Provincial Highway 4014 that head toward Khanom District. When you pass Baan Bang Nhod Market, turn left and continue for about 100 m. You will arrive at the beginning of the trail, marked by the National Park, where you can start discovering the forests, variety of plants or take the fisherman’s boat along Khanom Canal to see the area that the forest covers as well as fireflies along both sides of the canal. Facilities There is no accommodation provided by the National Park for tourists but there is a campsite. With the recently opened National Park, visitors have to bring their own tents and food. Then, take the exit and head to Khanom District on the Provincial Highway 4041. After about 30 km., you will arrive at the National Park.-From Nakhon Si Thammarat Province, take the National Highway 401 (Nakhon Si Thammarat-SuratThani) and continue for 80 km. Then, take the Provincial Highway 4041 and you will arrive at the destination after driving for about 30 km.
