The Boripatra Forest Park is 52 kilometers away from Mueang District along the highway no. 406 between the 35th -36th kilometers. 800 meters from the entrance lies a little waterfall which has water throughout years located in the middle of green plentiful plants good for swimming as well as walking up through rock stairs along the mountain to another upper little pool.It is one of the waterfall in Rattaphum of Songkla Province. It originates from Bantad mountain called “glass mountain” by local people. Boripatra waterfall is about 20 kilometers the East of Rattaphum District Office, located at the 34th milestone of the Yontrakarnkamthorn road (Rattanaphum-Satun route), Moo.10, Kao PhraSubdistrict in the area of the forest national park under the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment and Rattanaphum District who renovated tourist attraction by building asphalt road to connect Yontrakarnkamthorn road which is the highway leading to the waterfall. The waterfall has water throughout each year; however, the amount of water will extremely increase during October to December. Its water cascades about 10 levels. From the first to the fifth level of the waterfall is convenient walking way, but for the other upper levels, you have to climb. At the first floor lies huge water pool good for bathing and swimming in clean and clear from any pollution.It was previously named Lam Rien Waterfall, later during in 2469-2471 B.E., ParibatraSukhumbhand, Prince of NakhonSawan who was the commander-in-chief at that time, came here for government service from Songkla Province to Satun Province. He stayed at the waterfall and signed his name on the forehead of the cliff of the waterfall that “Boripatra”, the waterfall changed its name to Boriphatra Waterfall since then.The surrounding is shady and cool with droplets of water, various kinds of flowers and perennial plants. You will hear birds singing songs sweetly. Here is highly safe because there are officials taking care of tourists all the time. Transportation is convenient that the asphalt road is provided leading to the waterfall and so does the broad parking lot. Since it is the forest park, there is a very strict regulation which is storing or collecting any stuff from nature in the park such as plants, animals or even rock out of the park is not allowed.The forest park is another tourist attraction for tourist travelling to Rattanaphum because its beautiful nature with various kinds of rare plant. During June to September which is the fruit season of the southern region of Thailand, there is a lot of fruits sold along the road which is good and affordable such as rambutan, durian, mangosteen, and southern langsat, et cetera, which are delicious that a lot of tourists are favored of.
