Ban Wai Luem

Ban Wai Luem at Maba sub-district, Thawat Buri district, Roi Et province on the Roi Et-Yasothon route at kilometer markers 145-145 is a famous silk weaving village under the OTOP project at the provincial and national levels. Additionally, it is a center of selling local handicrafts such as cotton bags, ready-made clothes, etc.In addition, “a saving group for production” was also set up at Khun Amporn Thongthisan’s house, 84, Mu 6, Soi 1, Ban Wai Luem, Maba sub-district, Thawat Buri district, Roi Et province. Nowadays, Wai Luem village is developed to become a homestay that provides accommodation to tourists to attract them to experience the way of life and culture of the villagers. It sells culture, tradition and the way of life which focus on natural relaxation and local products as well, especially Ban Wai Luem silk. This can generate large amount of income to local people. Furthermore, a wide variety of local products namely basketry products, organic vegetables, souvenirs, etc are sold. To get there and buy the products, visitors can take the Roi Et-Yasothon route along Highway 23 at kilometer markers 145-146 about 25 km from Roi Et town.
