Muang Tee Castle

Located in the compound of a temple named Wat Chom Suthawat, these ruins comprise 5 stupas built on the same base, with one central stupa which is accessible by stairs at the four compass directions. According to a Hindu belief, the middle stupa represents for Meru Mount, with four stupas at each corner. There are no inscriptions nor any art patterns that indicate accurately the time of construction. Mueang Thi Khmer Ruins is 16 kilometres from Surin town via Highway No. 226 (Surin-Si Khoraphum Road). Turn left at Ban Kok Lamduan into Wat Chom Suthawat to reach the historic site.
