Phu Pha Lek National Park

Extending over more than 100,000 acres, this national park stretches from SakonNakhon province to UdonThani to Kalasin. It contains the PhuPhan range, with its highest peak, Phu Ang So. Deciduous and evergreen forests blanket the park, along with various types of bamboo and herbs. Wild hogs, barking deer, mouse deer, and many species of birds are also found here. The main attractions are located on the peak of PhuPhaLek mountain, and include PhaSuriyan (a viewpoint and cliff), and LanU Sawan (an expansive plateau with forests, rocks and grasslands). Mid-way down the mountain is Ho Song Dao, an observatory, located at 700 meters above sea level, perfect for viewing meteor showers. Admission fee is 100 bath for adults and 50 bath for children. Accommodation and camping group are available for the tourists.
