Wat Pa Non Sawan

Wat Pa Non Sawan

This massive temple was inspired by the then-temple abbot’s visions. It was embellished and decorated with eye-striking local earthenware, making for a unique sight. The entrance of the multi-tiered Chedi (stupa) represents the mouth of monkey god Hanuman, a major character in the Southeast Asian epic of the Ramakian. Each floor of the Chedi contains murals illustrating the life of the Lord Buddha. At the temple gates, there are two huge tortoisestatues thatappear to be of Khmer or Indian-style. To get there, take Roi Et-ThawatBuri-Selaphum Road. It is about 13 kilometers from ThaWat Buri district and about 30 kilometers from Roi Et town.
