Wat Pa Sukato

Wat Pa Sukato located at Moo 8, Ban Mai Thai Charoen, Tambon Tha Mafai Wan, Amphoe Kaengkhro, Chaiyaphum, about 50 kilometres from Amphoe Muang. The temple covers an area of 185 acres in Phu Lanka or Phu Kong Mountain range at a height of 470 metres above sea level.Luang Phor Kham Khian Suwanno talked about Wat Pa Sukato and his intention of building the temple: “Sukato is a place where people come and go for wellness, also for the beneficial impact of the environment, human being, river, forest and air. This is the wellness in coming, going and being. This wellness is born from earth, water, air and fire, not from one person alone. Good earth will move forth and back and gives birth to good forests. All these are called Sukato, which is intended to be the foundation of many good deeds. Here, we do not even plough land. To live here, we will not exploit or affect anything. This place will be free of all hazards. Animals, men, forest and land should live together and bore lives holistically. With intention to live here until Nirvana, we shall be accountable and prove the words of Lord Buddha. Let people come and share the experience we have realized. There are shelter, food and friends who will teach, demonstrate, lead by example and give advice. Should one wish to stay here, his or her intention to practice dharma shall be fulfilled.”
