Chong Klam Bon Wildlife Breeding Station

Chong Klam Bon Wildlife Breeding Station is located at Moo 1, Tambon Nong Mak Fai, Amphoe Watthana Nakhon, Sa Kaeo. Established in 1983 by the Wildlife Sanctuary Bureau of Forestry Department, Chong Klam Bon Wildlife Breeding Station covers the area of 430 Rai inside Pang Sida National Park. The wildlife breeding station was established according to the Queen Sirikit’s intention to conserve rare wild life and nearly-extinct animals. The place is also a research station on wildlife, providing knowledge and understanding on wild animals. Inside the station is divided into breeding sections. The animals are bred in an environment that is as similar to their natural habitat as possible. Some are let free to search for their own food, while some live in the zoo. Animals at the station’s zoo include foxes, Eld’s deer, wild deer, Banteng, bearcats and variety of birds such as peacocks, oriental pied hornbills, great pied hornbills, bar-pouched wreathed hornbills, wrinkled hornbills, great indian hornbills, common hill mynas and red-billed blue magpies. There are also the white-winged ducks (Ped Ka,) the symbol animal of Sa Kaeo which attracts many visitors. Chong Klam Bon Wildlife Breeding Station has shady atmosphere, suitable for relaxation and learning about wild animals. To get there, use the same route to Pang Sida National Park, passing Tha Krabak Reservoir for about 500 metres before turning left at an intersection and continue for about 4 kilometres.
