Khok Khon Museum

Khok Khon museum is located at Mu 4 Tambon Khok Khon, on the Mong River Basin, which shelters a major archaeological site that was uninterruptedly inhabited from the prehistoric to Dvaravati Periods, approximately 1,500-2,500 years ago. Human skeletons and artefacts like polished stone tools, stone bracelets, stone arrowheads, Funan coins from the Dvaravati Period, etc., were unearthed and are now exhibited in the Museum for public learning. To get there: From Amphoe Tha Bo, follow Highway No. 2020 bound for Tambon Khok Khon until seeing the direction sign to the Museum. Turn right into Yothathikan Nong Khai 202 Road for approximately 7 kilometres and turn left for another 300 metres towards the Saeng Chai Market. Turn right into a soi some 20 metres before reaching the Market, and the Museum will be seen on the left-hand side.
