This place can be considered as the heart of Nong Bua Lamphu Province. Only the name of the province can depict the image of it as the city of swamps (Nong). Swamps are the province’s symbolic place which absolutely has fascinating scenery. Only the name of the province can make everyone imagine what the province looks like. Therefore, anyone who visits Nong Bua Lamphu Province have to visit Nong Bua, the province’s swamp, as well. Nong Bua is a large swamp located at the front of Nong Bua Lamphu District Office. This place has water logged throughout the year. The swamp is a place for people in Nong Bua Lamphu to relax in the evening. The tourists can see the beautiful Phu Phan mountain range behind Nong Bua, where the tourists can go for a walk, admire the scenery, and impress the atmosphere and the surrounding nature, both in the morning and the evening especially when the sun sets. This is a breath-taking and memorable view which the photographers must not miss recording these memories. When the tourists look westwards, they will see Ho Song Nang. People in Nong Bua Lamphu Province believe that the two girls (means Song Nang in Thai) were the twin nieces of Phra Wo and Phra Ta, who established the city of Nong Bua Lamphu. These girls are called Kham Si and Kham Sai. They were assigned to keep an eye on a giant gong from Vientiane so that no one could steal it. Besides, not far from Nong Bua, there is a Shrine of King Naresuan the Great, which was built as a memorial to remind that Nong Bua Lamphu was once recorded in the history as King Naresuan had led his troop to this place.
