Nong Kut Thing

Nong Kut Thing covering an area of 22,000 rai with adepth of 5-10 metres, Kut Thing Marshland is situated 5 kilometres from the provincial city of Bueng Kan. It is a biodiverse marshland providing a haven for over 250 species of aquatic wetland wildlife. These include 20 endemic fish species, 200 species of aquatic plants, and 40 species of birds. The ecologically rich Nong Kut Thing is also an important source of livelihood for the local community of 2,000 households. It ranks Thailand’s 11th wetland of international importance or Ramsar site.
