Phu Luang Wildlife Sanctuary

Phu Luang means a large mountain or the Mountain of the King, formed by an uplift of the earth’s crust and a slide of soft soil down to the lower land. Phu Luang was declared a wildlife sanctuary on 18 December, 1974. It covers an area of approximately 560,593 rai and is generally a plateau with a cool climate throughout the year. It is situated in Amphoe Wang Saphung, Amphoe Phu Ruea, Amphoe Dan Sai and Amphoe Phu Luang. Accommodation: The sanctuary provides accommodation for tourists.
