Walking Street (Chai Khong Road)

Chai Khong Road is a classic walking street in Chiang Khan where both sides of the street are lined with wooden old houses aged over 100 years, most of which are adapted into hotels, guesthouses, and souvenir shops. On regular days, the atmosphere of the area is peaceful and simple like the way of rural life in other provinces, but during the weekend, this road will be crowded with tourists that make it bustling and lively. In the morning, people will do alms offerings with sticky rice and when the sun goes down, it is a time for wandering around, riding a bike and shopping various souvenirs that are offered all through this road.
