Ao Si Thanu

Ao Si Thanu is a tourist destination popular among both Thai and foreign tourists. It is a perfect place for swimming and snorkelling on coral reefs. Located in Ko Pha-ngan Subdistrict, Ko Pha-ngan District, Surat Thani, it is a bay with the island’s third most beautiful beach. The beach has fine white sand. Some rocks can also be found here, especially where fishing boats dock. Swimming is allowed all along the beach, except in the monsoon season, during which huge tidal waves occur. Besides, the beach is one of Ko Pha-ngans best places to see a sunset. The bay is easily accessible. To get here, get on a songthaew from Ao Thong Sala and don’t forget to prepare 40 baht for the fare. Moreover, from Ao Si Thanu, you can also travel further to Ao Hin Kong and Ao Wok Tum. Aside from being a well-known tourist attraction, the bay is a perfect place for fishing boats to dock, particularly during the monsoon season. Fishermen also repair their boats here. This beach quite dangerous for swimming during strong windy periods of the monsoon.
