Pran Buri Dam

It is in Ban Wang Won Chonlaprathan, Nong Ta Taem sub-district, Pran Buri district, Prachuap Khiri Khan province. It is an earth Dam blocking the Pran Buri River causing a large lake. Its crest is 1,500 m long, 8 m wide and 42 m high. In addition to a major dam in Pran Buri, it is also a tourist site, where tourists can view beautiful scenery of a valley that embraces the river bend with silent atmosphere and cool air from the stream and green trees. Besides, it is an excellent fishing point that fishers should not miss. On the way, a herd of goats walk and graze grass along an asphalt road on the crest. Visitors can drive while appreciating its scenery. A very time is when the sun sets and disappears behind the mountain. Gold light crossing Tanao Si Mountain is very attractive. The dam can be accessed by famous Huai Mongkhon Temple or by Phetchakasem Road about 10 km. In case of travelling by bus, there is a bus service from Hua Hin-Pran Buri. Then, take a local transport called Songthaew from Pran Buri intersection in Pran Buri district. For those who want to take a rest at Hua Hin, Pran Buri, the dam is another recommended site.
