Wat Chankapho

Located at Bang Tei district, on the west side of Chao Praya River. 6 kilometres from the city hall.

Wat Chankapho was constructed by the Mons during the reign of King Rama II and was called “Wat Kwo”, meaning “Chankapho” -Vatica diospyroides Sym. -which for the Mons is an auspicious tree similar to the golden Pathum Thani 15 shower. Inside the temple is a cultural hall collecting Mon objets d’art. There is also a project to preserve the fish species in front of the temple. Besides, the temple is an important ceremonial venue of the Pathum Thani locals such as “Ok Hoi Pachu”, Takhap Flag competition, a ceremony offering food to 100 monks, etc.
