The waterfalls are located at Tambon Mae U Kho, Amphoe KhunYuam, Mae Hong Son Province and situated in a well-known area of Mae U Kho hill. If you have a chance to join the lotus festival at Doi Mae U Kho, it’s a must to visit Mae U Kho waterfalls nearby as well. The waterfalls of which the beauty is unrivalled were discovered in 1987. The river has flowed through colossal rocks on the cliff before running into the abyss for more than 30 meters. This makes a scenic view which is phenomenal in that the white sprays look like beautiful fog and trickle melodiously. Moreover, the water in the middle part of U Kho Waterfalls runs vertically. Tourists can go inside the large fault to admire the beauty inside. Looking from the inside, one can see the magnificent “water curtain” which will leave visitors unforgettably impressed. The natural beatific phenomenon usually occurs in rainy seasons from July to September. From the heart of Mae Hong Son, you can go along the Highway Number 108 (Mae Hong Son-KhunYuam) about 66 kilometers. Then you turn left into Highway Number 1263 heading for ThungDokBua Tong and go on 26 kilometers until you reach the intersection and finally go on about 3 kilometers.
